Descendants: Movie Review
From the Disney Channel comes another great movie called Descendants. This movie is based on the villains from the Disney movies and their children.
The villains and their children, Mal (Dove Cameron), Carlos (Cameron Boyce), Jay (Booboo Stewart) and Evie (Sofia Carson). In the same order, their parents are Maleficent, Cruella De Vil, Jafar (from Aladdin) and the Evil Queen from Snow White.
The father of the current Prince of Arundel (the good side) fought all the villains and their side kicks and dumped them on an island. The villains and subsequently their children were banished to The Isle of the Lost where there is a magical barrier around the island that stops it’s inhabitants from leaving.
The children have been invited to go to school with the good people because the Prince, soon to be crowned King, believed that the children of the villains are innocent.
Maleficent has also set them a task, while they are there, to steal the Fairy Godmother’s (Melanie Paxson) wand so that the villains can take over Arundel.
These four teenagers are growing to like their new home and the different activities they have to do like sports, learning and baking.
I like the part where Maleficent turns into a dragon when they have failed to complete the task. The four of them run for their lives as she breathes fire through her mouth.
My favourite song was the first song of the movie called ‘Rotten to the Core’. The teenagers express their feelings in this song which is a mix of rap and singing.
I would recommend this show for children aged 8 and over because some of the scenes are quite scary.
I give Descendants FOUR stars.
