To Dye or Not To Dye – Your hair, advice for teenagers
This is an assignment that I had to complete for my English. The question was on writing to persuade. In this particular case, I was to write a letter to a friend advising her on whether or not to dye her hair green. This was my letter:
Hi Caren,
Hope you are well! Have you been back to Sweden lately to see your family? I heard you started your own YouTube channel, CarenGamesxx. It’s already got 28 subscribers! Wow!
I am writing to you to advise you about your latest tweet on Twitter saying “Should I dye my hair green?”. Yes, go for it! It would look really great and make your beautiful features really stand out. It would also complement the colour of your eyes really well.
If you do dye your hair green, it would be great fun and because all your exams are over and you won’t have to worry about school as you will be going to university. In the time that you have I suggest you enjoy yourself while you can and have the opportunity to. Especially when Jace is going to the same university as you, you’ll get a chance to see if he really likes you. He should like you for who you are not what you’re made of. If he doesn’t like you (with green hair), then he’s not good enough for you.
Oh yes, and you landed the lead role in the production of trolls right? It would be really good as your hair will look more realistic. No offence, but your wig mistress really isn’t that great. You will get into character more if your customers and hair is real.
If you don’t like it you can always dye it back or grow it out. It’s okay, of course your favourite quote is “nothing in life is ever permanent”. Remember, next month we are going to comic con together so it would look so cool if you dyed your hair green, you could go as Ramona flowers from that manga comic book flower life!
Hope to see you soon
From your best friend
Georgia.
